During recent years, there has been a growing love for all things Korean, be it food, skincare, shows, and even music. That is why it came as no surprise when the South Korean boy band, BTS, suddenly skyrocketed into fame back in 2020 with their song ‘Dynamite’. While the boys had been huge in Korea already, this was their stepping stone to making a mark all over the world. But with the fame, there came the bad too. After being nominated for a few Grammys over the years, the group announced that they would be spending time on their solo careers.

With the VMAs right around the corner and surprising nominations, there is one question that still lingers in everyone’s minds: Will BTS be at the 2023 award show?

Is BTS going to be at the VMAs?

After the band did not attend last year’s VMAs, there was considerably some doubt over whether the band would do the same thing this year. In 2022, BTS was the most nominated group of the night, yet since the boys were more focused on solo projects back in Korea, no one made it to the show.

Unfortunately, this year may be the same with the singers still focusing on their individual projects. However, fans may get to see Jungkook from the band as his debut solo single, ‘Seven’, has been nominated for the Song of the Summer award.

While fans of the group may have to wait a while before they get new music from BTS, it is possible that fans may end up seeing a few more solo debuts before that happens.

The band members are focusing on their solo careers

Back in 2022, the K-pop world was thrown for a spin when it was announced the BTS would spend time focusing on their individual career prospects. While most people believed that the band was splitting up, the boys immediately jumped in to clear up the confusion.

So far, the two members who have been consistent in putting out new music have been Jungkook and Suga. But Suga, who recently stunned everyone on a Valentino campaign, actually began his solo career way back when the band was still not very well known. However, there may be another member who will be starting his solo career soon, now that Kim Tae-hyung, known as V, has announced his debut solo album, ‘Layover’, which is set to release on September 8.

Fans will have to hold on to hope for BTS to attend the VMAs. With their rather packed schedule, it seems unlikely that all the members will be present. But hopefully, there will always be next year. And with the new albums coming out, BTS fans may get to witness another historic moment again.
