Olivia Rodrigo was recently asked to clear the air about speculations about a fallout between her and Taylor Swift, who recently hinted at an announcement. During an interview with The Guardian, the singer was asked who she had written her latest song about. And without missing a beat, she said that she had “never done that before” in her career and that she “probably won’t” be revealing her muses.
This comes after fans convinced themselves that Rodrigo’s song, ‘Vampire’ was about Swift. But the singer went on to say in her interview that she “was very surprised when people thought that.” She also went on to clarify that she believed “it’s better to not pigeonhole a song to being about this one thing.”
While Olivia Rodrigo may have cleared up the speculations around her new song, some fans were not so quick to let it go. But the most interesting part is why the fan speculations began.
Taylor Swift accused Rodrigo of copyright infringement
When Rodrigo dropped her first album, ‘Sour’, fans could not help but notice the similarities between the artist’s song ‘Deja Vu’ and Taylor Swift’s hit song, ‘Cruel Summer’. While the singer was never sued, unlike the rumors, Swift and her team did accuse the singer of copyright infringement.
