BBC’s Kanye West Documentary Finds Several Buyers, as the Much-Awaited ‘We Need to Talk About Kanye’ Promises Major Revelations

The We Need to Talk About Kanye documentary is progressing pretty fast. With or without his actual presence, the ‘Donda’ singer has proved the magnetic effect he has on people and the media. Like him or hate him, he remains an icon that gets coverage even in his darkest days. Kanye West still remains underground so far. But BBC is now set to put out a documentary for fans to understand him better.

The upcoming documentary is headed by investigative journalist Mobeen Azhar. After Jeen-Yuhs, this is supposed to be one major documentary that will instead focus on his controversies and rough patch while understanding the complexity of his stardom.

Kanye West was basically banned from social media during his barrage of controversial statements, whether it be dissing his former wife or any celebrity or ranting on antisemitism. A lot of fellow fans and celebrities pulled back on their support for him. But despite it all, the next documentary on him is a much-awaited one. According to Variety magazine, several broadcasters have successfully purchased the documentary across territories, sold by Abacus Media Rights. Producer Jeremy Lee opened up about how the show will follow Azhar as he tries to demystify the rave about his fame.

So far, it has been purchased by Australia’s Foxtel, Belgium’s VRT, channel TV2 in Denmark and TV 4 in Sweden and Finland, along with Netherlands’ NPO. The makers will discuss more during the MipTV conference. Although the Director of AMR assured fans that the documentary will be a revelation of several insights about the singer. After all, it is also the work of an award-winning documentary journalist. He also made The Battle for Britney. It was surrounding her stardom and conservatorship struggles.
