The film starring Ariana Grande as Glinda and Cynthia Erivo as Elphaba is the first film adaptation of the Tony-winning Broadway musical. It is based on the 1995 novel Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West by Gregory Maguire. The movie will focus on the classic story of the magical world of OZ. However, the film takes place long before the Wizard of Oz’s Dorothy Gale dropped in.

The much-awaited project features a star-studded cast including Cynthia Erivo, Jonathan Bailey, Michelle Yeoh, Jeff Goldblum, and Ethan Slater. Wicked is scheduled to arrive in theaters in two parts, one on November 27, 2024, and the next on December 25, 2025.
