Adidas’ $565,000,000 Sale of Yeezy Assure Kanye West to Claim a Significant Sum of Money from the $39 Billion Worth Giant
Kanye West, despite being a creative genius, somehow manages to be in the news for the wrong reasons, including his anti-Semitic remarks and white supremacist slogans. The 46-year-old rapper is popular for his experimental music projects and his collaborations with top luxury brands. He was a partner of the brand Adidas where he launched his collection, Yeezy, generating humongous sales conversions. His much-talked-about partnership with the German sportswear giant has once again brought him to top headlines. The on-off partnership with Adidas has fetched the rapper some staggering fortune while enriching its own stocks.
Before things turned south, the company generated a whopping revenue of around $1.7bn. Together they came up with Yeezy shoes that made the ‘Heartless’ singer a billionaire. For those unversed, this collaboration did not last long. The German company had to end their partnership due to Ye’s anti-Semitic remarks. Despite this feud, Yeezy sales have generated a lot of profits for the company.

According to Financial Times, Yeezy sales have generated a total revenue of $565 million and it’s only growing. Despite the tainted reputation of the ‘Donda’ rapper, fans continued with their obsession with the brand. Ye can thus claim up to 15% of the share for his design rights. He is also entitled to approximately $85 million of the total revenue.
Reports suggest that the brand’s sudden termination of its partnership with Ye actually turned out advantageous for both the star and the brand. Additionally, the company has confirmed that a substantial amount of the revenue will be given to the Anti-Defamation League and the Philonise & Keeta Floyd Institute for Social Change to compensate for Ye’s insensitive remarks.
Ye received a lot of backlash for his controversial remarks on sensitive topics. It soon escalated until Twitter and Instagram suspended the rapper for a while.

The rapper was seen wearing a t-shirt that read “White Lives Matter” during a stage show, which was highly criticized for being insensitive towards the “Black Lives Matter” movement. Moreover, he went on to post anti-Semitic comments on social media platforms, saying that he would soon go “death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE.” Even though he removed the post later, his remarks hurt the sentiments of people to the core and violated the policies of the platform and Adidas.
Even Ye’s ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, condemned his statements and put up a tweet saying “Hate speech is never OK or excusable.” However, in an episode of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the SKIMS owner was seen regretting her decision to lash out at her ex-husband. She expressed that she feels “guilty” for posting “something in support of the Jewish community”
