After ‘The Idol’s’ Crash, The Weeknd’s $350,000,000 Tour Has Broken a Major Record Held by the Legendary Michael Jackson
The Weeknd’s The Idol aired on HBO in June and the fans were not that big of a fan of the singer-turned-actor’s performance. But the multi-talented ‘Blinding Lights’ singer has been juggling all his artistic talents. The Canadian ended the US leg of his music tour last year, being a major success. With the UK leg of the tour starting on July 12 this year, The Idol star has broken the record that was previously held by legendary singer-songwriter Michael Jackson.
His ongoing music tour, After Hours Til Dawn Tour, broke the record for the highest-grossing tour ever by any black artist. Amassing a collection of $350,000,000, he is now the frontrunner beating MJ. Previously, Michael Jackson held the baton for the Bad World Tour, with record earnings of $311,000,000, adding inflation. The US leg of this same tour contributed to about $148,000,000 in sales and sold more than a million tickets.
