Comic books have been the portal access to the nostalgia of childhood for a long time now. Although the access to comics has undergone footfall, the renditions have always been on a hike. In the contemporary world of visual aesthetics, comic books’ translation has transcended the live-action adaptation of fan theories in the form of fan-made posters. As a way to reinstate fan expectations, a recently made fan-casting poster featured Dua Lipa as a DC Comics character. 

Art and craft always exceed the ordinary pleasures of desire for something concrete. Much in the same way, a fan-made poster of Dua Lipa emerged on X, formerly Twitter, by a user Davi Alves. In the poster art, the fan curated a portrayal of the pop icon as Zatanna, the enchanted magician from DCU. As the poster reached the socials, the enchantment rapidly disseminated as fans across the world got caught up in the vision.

Dua Lipa’s access is not limited to the musical universe but also is widespread in the theatrical one. Such was already witnessed when the first teaser trailer of Argylle came out with her starring opposite Henry Cavill. While her ignition in the cinematics was already widely appreciated, the recent fan-made poster has vouched a place for her in the prospect of future projects.

Although the dream of Dua Lipa picking the strings of DCU at the moment is rather bleak, it has no shortcomings in the fan reactions. After the poster was unveiled on socials, supporters have been mobbing the thread in appreciation of the artist’s far-fetched outlook.

In the world of fast-paced entertainment, comic books are the secure pathway to revisiting the old. But what happens when the old overlaps with the new? Without a second guess, Dua Lipa’s fan-made crossover with Zatanna takes credibility. While the imagination of her exiting the musical emblem to enter the DCU takes some real sight of envisioning, the outcome nevertheless is iconic. 

Not many could foresee the intermingling of Dua Lipa with Zatanna before this. Despite the unexpectedness, fans also noted how they could not unsee it anymore. Instead, what did appear very clearly is that the fan-made poster had created a surge of foretelling.

A fan also demanded Taylor Paige’s depiction “as Cat Woman” while another looked forward to Laura Karuiki “as Starfire.” But even then, what is a social thread without overriding reactions? As many fans could make peace with the fan art, some expected a better muse to ensure better “acting”. While Dua Lipa’s acting score needing assurance in fandom is understandable, there is hope that the singer will rise above the backlashes to prove her skills once Argylle releases in the theaters.
