The Pogues are finally back! Netflix announced the production of Outer Banks season 3 is underway on their Twitter handle. The series first premiered in April 2020. It was an instant hit. Viewers loved the action-adventure narrative. The streamer streamed the second season in July 2021. Netflix renewed the show for a third season in December 2021.

In the latest picture shared on Twitter, Netflix captioned it: “Time to get in a Pogue state of mind… Outer Banks season 3 is officially in production.” 

They also shared the pics with the caption: “Wouldn’t wanna be stranded with anyone else. OBX3 is now in production” on their Instagram.

The original cast is returning to reprise their roles. In the photo, we see the Outer Banks star cast happily holding hands and making their way to the beach. 

Outer Banks is based on a group of teenagers living on the Outer Banks off the coast of North Carolina. The group of friends come across a treasure map and soon unravel the dark secrets of the town. Before they know it, the friends find them embroiled in a much larger scheme. 

Madeline Cline is back as Sarah Cameron for Outer Banks season 3

Rumors were floating around the internet, that Madeline Cline who plays the love interest of John B.Routledge on Outer Banks will not be returning after season 3. But the star put the rumors to rest after she announced that she loves her job and will return to the show as long as the production wants her to. 

“Hi, so I’m getting asked if S3 is my final season of OBX. I will come back for many seasons as they will have me. I love my job and there’s not a day that goes by that I’m not grateful for it, and everyone who has watched it.“

The rumors began after her split with Chase Stokes who plays John B on Outer Banks. The two had dated for over a year before breaking up. 

“Not everything you read on the internet is true,” she said.

Fans were worried about the future of the show after the couple’s split. But 24-year-old Cline has assured the fans that this will not affect the show in any way. However, no official release date has been announced yet.
