Lucifer Morningstar is coming to Netflix with season 5 part 2 in May after its successful first part last year. But when is the release date? What do we know about Lucifer season 5 part 2 so far?

Originally made and aired by Fox, reached its popularity in a short time. Lucifer is a screen adaption of the comics written by Neil Gaiman, Sam Kieth, and Mike Dringenberg. After being canceled by Fox after season 3, Netflix renewed Lucifer and got some great critics with season 4. After the success of season 4, Lucifer is renewed for season 5, and the first part of season 5 is released on August 21st, 2020. Now in a short while in May 2021, Lucifer is going to be back on Netflix.

Lucifer is going to be on Netflix on May 28th, 2021. This will be the second part of season 5 and it will be 8 episodes until the season finale. This date was announced by Netflix with a trailer for part 2 in previous months. Every new episode will release at 12:01 a.m. PT on Friday, May 28. And if you live on the East Coast you must be waiting until 3:01 a.m. on Friday.

The final episode of season 5 part 1 was a very unexpected one, especially at the very end. After a fight between the angel brothers Lucifer, Michael, and Amenadiel, God himself showed in the earth and spoke to his children. From this scene and the official trailer for part 2, we can expect this season to be about the relationship between Lucifer and his dad, God. After seeing the scenes in the trailer we also expect to see the ongoing fight between Lucifer and his twin brother Michael. Without any doubt, we do expect lots of crime-solving by Lucifer and Chloe.

Positive critics of Lucifer during the Netflix period also helped the show for being renewed for another season. After season 5 part 2, we are going to see Lucifer for one more season. Also, season 6 will be the last season for Lucifer and contain 10 episodes through the end. Even if Lucifer is renewed this year, there are still no words for season 6 release dates. Our best guess, according to the other seasons of Lucifer on Netflix, season 6 can be on Netflix in May 2022.

Here is the synopsis for Netflix’s popular show Lucifer:

The series focuses on Lucifer Morningstar (Tom Ellis), a handsome and powerful angel who was cast out of Heaven for his rebellion. Like the Devil, Lucifer tires of the millennia, he’s spent being the Lord of Hell, punishing people.

However, many people ask this question, the answer is no he is not playing God in lucifer. Although he could be an amazing choice for playing God, Netflix chose Dennis Haysbert to play this role. A couple of seasons earlier Neil Gaiman was doing the voice acting for god but this is the first time we’re seeing god and Dennis Haysbert portrays him.

  • Tom Ellis as Lucifer Morningstar and Archangel Michael
  • Lauren German as Detective Chloe Decker
  • Kevin Alejandro as Detective Daniel Espinoza
  • D. B. Woodside as Amenadiel
  • Lesley-Ann Brandt as Mazikeen

The trailer is not the only source we can get information from the new part of Lucifer. D. B. Woodside, known as Amenadiel in Lucifer said that this will be one of the most emotional seasons in Lucifer. Tom Ellis also said the same things about the new part. Kevin Alejandro on the other hand talked about something different about his character. He teased an episode where his character Dan is naked. Alejandro also said “Hardest I’ve worked” about that naked episode.
