Kanye Loses Control in This Unseen Footage From jeen yuhs

When making a documentary, you shoot hours and hours of footage as you need to keep the film as authentic as possible. It is only in the editing room that you get to shape your film. But that also means you cannot show everything you shot. So directors often release unseen footage they shot but could not keep in the movie. That is what director Coodie Simmons did with jeen yuhs.

TIME has presented unseen exclusive footage from the “Slow Jamz” (2004) shooting. jeen yuhs is produced by the film and television division of TIME.

In the clip, the upcoming artist becomes highly frustrated with the crew of the video as they cannot understand the creative vision Kanye is explaining to them. He says, “I’m gonna keep repeating myself over and over and over again. Y’all are forcing me to be the asshole.” He adds by saying that “I’m spazzing.” The video was such a harrowing experience because of the financial crisis’s creative rifts. This was also just a few months after Kanye’s near-fatal car crash.

The first part of jeen yuhs started premiering on Netflix on February 16th and was a big hit among fans. As soon as the fans finished the first part, they wanted more. And it looks like Netflix isn’t going to keep them waiting for long. The second part releasing just weeks after the first part on February 23rd. And jeen yuhs episode 3 (awakening) will be available for streaming exclusively on Netflix from March 2nd.
