“Just so I could watch him getting…” From Watching ‘Emancipation’ to Comparing Will Smith to Shark, Chris Rock Has Some Crazy Jokes Planned For His Comedy Special Releasing on Netflix
While everyone was left gaping after Will Smith slapped Chris Rock at the Oscars, a moment that is now popularly defined as the Slapgate, after a certain period fans got tired of the jokes. However, there were a few exceptions. For instance, they did not mind a refined actor like Eddie Murphy taking a jibe at him. And they most certainly will not mind the star the Slpagate, Chris Rock, punching back at Will Smith with his jokes. By the looks of it, that is exactly what he has been doing with his new comedy special Selective Outrage, which is soon to make its way to Netflix.

You can always count on Chris Rock to ruffle feathers with his jokes. And while he may have taken a slap for it at Oscars 2022, the comedian is back at it again with his comedy special. This time he is keeping Smith’s wife’s name out of his mouth, but not Smith’s. The jokes coming from the horse’s mouth are nothing short of side-splitting.
Chris Rock has a bounty of Will Smith jokes for his Netflix special
Selective Outrage, the name of Chris Rock’s comedy special in itself, is eye-catching. After the moment, which some define as iconic while others term it embarrassing, fans looked to Rock for a reaction. However, the comedian did not have much to say about it in 2022. This year, however, is a completely different story. While the Comedian is bringing new jokes to the table, he has already tested a few of them in his other shows.
One joke that will probably make it to the final cut is how he watched Emancipation “just so I [he] could watch him [Will Smith] getting whipped,” as reported by AV Club. This is only one of the punches that Chris Rock has packed for Will Smith.
Others include a hilarious FAQ of whether or not the slap that audibly boomed throughout the world hurt or didn’t.
Fans zapped for Selective Outrage
The special is set to be broadcasted live on Netflix on the 4th of March at 7 p.m. PT (10 p.m. ET). And fans can not keep calm. Rock getting up on stage ahead of the Oscars to make hopefully one joke every five minutes about the slap is akin to Lexi’s masterpiece of a drama towards the end of Euphoria.
