Is Norsemen Season 4 Coming? – Is It Renewed?

Is Norsemen season 4 coming? Has the show got renewal for another season? Here’s everything we know about the fourth season of the series.

The fourth season of the series is unfortunately will not be released. Netflix has decided to end Norwegian comedy shows after three seasons. The comedy series created by Jonas Torgersen and Jon Iver Helgaker did not get a renewal. The show, called Vikingane in Norwegian; was about a group of Vikings and their daily shenanigans.

Why is Norsemen season 4 cancelled?

The last season of Norsemen was released back in July 2020. It also managed to stay in the top ten charts of Netflix UK for a couple of days. Though it could not reach the same chart in Netflix US. The official Twitter account of the show announced the bad news for the fans of the series.

The way the show displayed the brutal warriors unlike any other was quite interesting. It was also one of the most successful Netflix Originals coming from Norway, besides Ragnarok of course. Which, unlike Norsemen, it is going to get another season. It already has a release date in addition to a teaser.

Norsemen cast and official synopsis

Norwegian comedy TV show tells about a band of Norwegians living in a village called Norheim. It also takes place in the year 790 and covers the daily lives of Vikings. The dwellers of Norheim are played by the cast below. And here’s the official description of Norsemen provided by the streaming platform.

“In 790 AD, the Vikings of Norheim have a hectic schedule that includes pillaging, plundering, enslaving others and solving problems with violence.”

  • Henrik Mestad as Chieftain Olav
  • Maria Saastad Ottesen as Hildur
  • Silje Torp as Froya
  • Kare Conradi as Orm
  • Oystein Martinsen as Kark
  • Jon Oigarden as Jarl Varg
  • Kristine Riss as Liv
  • Bjorn Myrene as Torstein Hund
  • Mikkel Bratt Silset as Ragnar
  • Nils Jorgen Kaalstad as Arvid
  • Trond Fausa Aurvag as Rufus

How many episodes does Norsemen have?

Norsemen have three seasons and every season has six episodes, summing up to a total of 18 episodes full of Viking-style comedy.

The episodes were shot twice in two languages, English and Norwegian. Because Norsemen initially premiered on NRK1. Netflix picked up English episodes of the show and added them to its library in August 2017. The second season of the show came in 2018 and the final season of the series was released last September. Norsemen season 3 took the viewers to a timeline before season 1. It also showed the events that led up to the first season of the series.

It might be nice to re-watch the whole series as comedies like these just never get old. You can also have a look at the new shows and movies coming soon to Netflix.

I really loved the show. It’s heartbreaking to discontinue such a funny series. I was looking forward for season 4 of Norseman.

Was really looking forward to Season 4, it was funny and action packed. It was different but a good different. Netflix…please reconsider Norsemen for another season. I think if more people actually saw the show they’d love it.

Netflix, it’s a mistake to end this show after only 3 seasons. YOU could have made this more popular by advertising it more often. I had to really do a lot of hunting to find it. Yes it’s a tad vulgar but it’s downright hilarious. Such a shame. I’ve lost respect for your decision making capabilities. After all the crap you offer starring teenagers, you thought this show should take the hit and not one of them instead? Seriously, someone is sleeping in your corporation.

I am disappointed Norseman was really funny in its own way. Netflix is making poor decisions about many shows like this. Probably go back to Amazon prime or Hulu now

Come on Netflix. What are you doing? This is too good not to renew. We need a season 4, and beyond.

Netflix sucks. Maybe if we added a few black Vikings and make them specify their pronouns?

    So dumb.

Netflix you really need to at least have a movie finale then.. There are a lot of people who love the show.. And so many of us just found it on Netflix by chance.. You ran a really poor advertisement for it.. I mean really did you have ANY advertisement at all.? We who support you through monthly payments really should get some consideration.. Time to cancel.. NOW!!

A very stupid decision to cancel this show , it was a breath of fresh air with fantastic comedy acting and taking a good look at the life of vikings through the lense of the 21st century, you have really messed up losing this hilarious program which obviously translated to English perfectly, maybe it’s because it’s comedy of a more British dry nature and not the out there “look at me comedy” of American comedies. It’s a real shame this is being cancelled I may consider subscribing elsewhere now as the teen schmalts that you play before this is ridiculous, we finally find a great comedy not from a country that speaks English as it’s first language but translates perfectly to English shows how clever the writing is , A BIG MISTAKE by Netflix in my decision

I came across this show by chance looking for historical stuff on Vikings, and so glad I did.
Lost count of the amount of times I’ve watched it and it is still ‘dry’ funny. Got lots of friends in to it, as well. Such a shame and a real mistake to take it off air.
This humour, and period setting, needs to run a lot longer.
    Netflix. Keep it going, guys.
