Season 2 of Vikings: Valhalla was unavoidable, given the show’s success. Even better, when Vikings: Valhalla was in production, season 2 and more were already being discussed. Season 2 was inevitable because Netflix required a minimum of 24 episodes for this show. Filming for Season 2 was concluded in November 2021.

Even before season one premiered on February 25th, screenwriter Jeb Stuart revealed that season two had not only been confirmed but had also been filmed and was in the editing process. “I am just finishing the editing of the last episode of season two this week and I am dying to get it out there.” he told Digital Spy.

Many characters die in the last episodes of Vikings: Valhalla season 1, as anybody who has finished watching it knows. But, much to everyone’s joy, several of the main characters will return for Season 2. Sam Corlett as Leif Erikson, Frida Gustavsson as Freyds Eirksdóttir, and Leo Suter as Harald Sigurdsson are among the cast members confirmed to return. We’re also looking for Soren Pilmark’s return as King Forkbeard and Bradley Freegard’s return as King Canute to reconcile their differences. As will Jóhannes Haukur Jóhannesson’s power-hungry Olaf.

Apart from that, actress Caroline Henderson recently hinted at the resurrection of her character in season 2. Her character Jarl Haakon dies in the final episodes of the series, as fans already know. She jokingly stated that, “She might turn up as a ghost or something.”

Expectations from Vikings: Valhalla season 2

We need to learn a lot about the Vikings’ history. Having said that, Freydis and Harald have the potential for romance. We witness Kattegat in ruins and on fire near the end of the show, with Freydis and Harald looking down on the kingdom as it burns to ash. Leo Suter, who plays Harald, said, “they have a lot to talk about and they work so well together.”

On the other hand, Leif appeared to be eager to pursue vengeance for what had occurred, particularly after the unexpected death of his close warrior companion Liv. The Harald shown in Vikings: Valhalla has King Canute’s open support, but his half-brother Olaf’s fate is uncertain. He escaped Kattegat with Freydis. Harald’s ascent to the throne is still a long way off.
