Years Before Playing Father-Son on Screen, Ryan Reynolds and Mark Ruffalo Were Already on the Same Side of Crazy for Comic Con
Ryan Reynolds and Mark Ruffalo are not two names that fans usually see together. But a year ago, the duo stunned their fans as they teamed up to play a father-son duo in a sci-fi film. While their film blew everyone away and gave fans a different view of Ruffalo’s range, the two are yet to team up again. But long before the film made its way to the screen, Reynolds and Ruffalo made a surprising appearance at Comic-Con.
However, it was the way they did it that gave away the fact the two actors may have more in common than people thought before.

Back in 2015, Ryan Reynolds was promoting Deadpool at Comic-Con. But the kicker was the fact that the star had done it while cosplaying as Darth Vader. While the actor managed to spend most of the day going unnoticed, it was not until he posted his outfit on his Instagram that people found out about his real identity. Similarly, while Ruffalo was at the same event, he also surprised his fans with a disguise of his own.
Though the Hulk actor was not attending any panels then, he just wanted to spend the day relaxing with his family. So he put on a Luigi mask that was pretty unsettling and spent the day hiding in plain sight. Later that evening, the now 55-year-old posted pictures of his costume and finally revealed the truth to his fans and followers. While the duo may have been joined by many other stars over the years, the way they went about the Comic-Con incident was too similar to be a convenience.
Almost a decade later, the duo finally acted alongside each other in Shawn Levy’s 2022 sci-fi drama that left audiences everywhere in tears.

A year ago, Ryan Reynolds and Mark Ruffalo brought life to the Shawn Levy film, The Adam Project. Shortly after that, the director came out, revealing why he had chosen Reynolds to be the lead. While it was their first-ever collaboration, they only left their fans wanting more. Though the two do not have much of an age gap, in the film Ruffalo played Reynolds’ dad as he had to time-travel back to the time he was 12 years old and save the future.
Reynolds could not do it without Ruffalo’s help and after a lot of convincing, they all ended up working together to complete the mission. Though the film did not end with a definite answer on plans for a sequel, Shawn Levy has mentioned the possibility of a sequel, but so far fans have not been given a proper answer.
