Will Ferrell Labels Ryan Reynolds as “Dodgy Canadian” in Latest ‘Welcome to Wrexham’ Cameo
Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney pulled one of the greatest turnovers in sports history with their taking charge of Wrexham AFC. Ever since its Hollywood makeover, the Welsh team has moved up leaps and bounds on the charts as well as in the global spotlight. Additionally, the duo’s persistent efforts pave the way for an influx of brand sponsorships, better amenities, and more celebrities at their doorstep. One among the many frequenters, including Reynolds’ Deadpool 3 co-star Hugh Jackman, is Will Ferrell.
In his latest surprise appearance in the Wrexham dressing rooms through the documentary, the former Saturday Night Live actor shared some fun exchanges with the players at the expense of the co-owners.

The American humorist and four-time Emmy award winner made his comeback to Wrexham in style. In the latest episode of Welcome to Wrexham Season 2, Ferrell goes about greeting every player in the room. He went around joking that his visit was for recruitment purposes before handing out a tough one for the players to answer. “Do you guys like Ryan and Rob or not really?” Cheekily dismissing it later with a quip, he led the atmosphere of the room filled with laughter.
The Los Angeles FC co-owner also toured a massage center in Wrexham’s quarters. Finally, several witty remarks later, he also made sure to crack one at the sole expense of Ryan Reynolds by calling him a “Dodgy Canadian”. The two actors are quite good mates having famously sung a rendition of the Christmas Carol. Additionally, the duo also make a point to come down and support each other’s teams in various fixtures.
Will Ferrell’s visit comes close on the heels of Wrexham’s acclaimed documentary landing into scrutiny.

Furthermore, the message of the show along with its saga of turning over the fates of an entire town inspired many, while also putting the team on the global map. Ironically, in its second season, the showrunners ran into trouble precisely with the maps.

A fairly recent episode of the series showed many prominent clubs in the UK in misplaced locations. Fans as well as the clubs themselves took to social media to highlight the same, leaving it red-faced. Additionally, the errors came just when the show’s previous episode had made glaring hindsight by affixing purported AI-generated images onto the show.
