Deadpool 3 has become a hub for rumored cameos. Since they flung open the “multiverse“ door, fans have been eagerly speculating about characters crossing over. And Deadpool 3, known for its satirical take on the multiverse, is now a hotbed for these rumors. One of the whispers about a cameo in the Shawn Levy movie was of Walker Scobell, the kid who played mini Ryan Reynolds in The Adam Project. Recently, Scobell’s Disney+ show Percy Jackson and the Olympians dropped its first season, and positive reviews have been flooding in ever since. 

During a promotional interview for the series, the actor finally set the record straight on whether he will be dropping by for a cameo in Deadpool 3.

Is Walker Scobell playing Kidpool in Deadpool 3? 

Writer of the ComicBookMovie, Josh Wilding, recently interviewed the Percy Jackson and the Olympians cast. When he asked about a possible reunion of Walker Scobell with Ryan Reynolds and Owen Wilson in Deadpool 3, the 14-year-old replied, “Not that I know of”. Scobell shared how he absorbed a ton of “valuable lessons” from the actors and incorporated them while filming Percy Jackson. Ending on a note of uncertainty, he added, “Yeah, I’m not sure—I’m hopeful for a reunion someday, but, uh, yeah, I don’t know”. 

Deadpool 3 hit a roadblock when the strikes brought film sets to an abrupt stop worldwide. Fortunately, the movie is back on track and set to hit theaters in the summer. Despite Walker Scobell stating in this interview that he is not part of Deadpool‘s threequel, the ongoing Kidpool rumors are bound to stick around until the movie’s release. But where did his cameo speculation spring from? 

While many of the rumored cameo appearances surfaced seemingly out of the blue or from cryptic clues, the Kidpool rumors gained traction from the actors themselves. 

Why do people think Walker Scobell is Kidpool? 

The story kicked off during Walker Scobell’s sit-down with Extra TV, where he revealed how Ryan Reynolds congratulated him on landing the Percy Jackson role. Instead of a straightforward congrats, Reynolds, in his trademark humorous style, tweeted, “I guess this makes me older Percy Jackson?”. This was a playful nod to The Adam Project, where he played the older version of Scobell. Scobell in response wanted to say if that made him “younger Deadpool”, although he did not say it. 

This was the point that fueled his rumored appearance as Kidpool in the upcoming movie. The rumors further gained more momentum after a video featuring Reynolds and Scobell went viral. In the video, Scobell was seen reciting Deadpool’s lines which he had memorized by heart. This led fans to believe that Scobell was the ideal fit for Kidpool. However, after this interview, it appears unlikely that the star of Percy Jackson and the Olympians will show up in Deadpool‘s third outing.
