‘Twilight’ Director’s Choice for a Modern Reboot: Jacob Elordi Really Rejected to Replace Henry Cavill for Superman?
The Twilight franchise’s mesmerizing portrayal of forbidden love and the eternal struggle between vampires and werewolves is iconically famous. Recently, the saga’s creative director also expressed her wish to remake it with Jacob Elordi and Jenna Ortega in its lead roles. In the past, these roles were held by Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stweart, who received much praise for their performance in it.
While the Priscilla actor’s recent works would have sparked this choice, long before even Henry Cavill was considered to be in the franchise. Apart from this similarity, the two heartthrobs also had their paths colliding for Superman. What exactly is the collision of fate for Cavill and Elordi?

When the original Twilight franchise came into conception, not many fans knew back then that the author of the novels it is based on: Stephanie Meyer actually wanted Henry Cavill for the role of Edward Cullen instead of Pattinson. In fact, even The Witcher actor was unaware of this. When Cavill found out, it came as a surprise to him. According to him, it “would have been cool” to land that part.
Yet, considering how popular the franchise went on to be, Pattinson was probably the perfect man for the job, anyway. Now that Jacob Elordi is entering the race for the vampire’s character, the remake could even go further than the original franchise did. Meanwhile, another connection he shares with Henry Cavill has recently made headlines.

After nailing his role of Elvis in Priscilla to perfection, Elordi has become a rather sought-after face. In an interview with GQ earlier this month, he spoke about the recent offers for flicks that had come his way. Apparently, the 26-year-old had been asked to audition for the part of Superman, presumably for the upcoming Superman: Legacy. It looks like before it went to David Corenswet, Elordi was a top contender for the role too.
Despite this, the Euphoria actor revealed that he had no “interest” in becoming Superman. When he was naked to “read for” the role, he politely declined. According to him, the flick would have been “too dark” for his liking. Additionally, he confessed to not being a fan of superhero flicks as they made him “restless”. If not by a movie, the two stars definitely were top choices for top franchises.
