Owing to its thriving imagination, the horizons for what even one actor can manage to do in one genre in the acting industry are quite endless. But with three Superman movies and a Mission: Impossible stint alongside the one and only, Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill might have just done more than his part for the action genre. Or perhaps after seeing him be the epitome of the perfect man in Enola Holmes, fans cannot help but want to see more of him in the romance genre.

Cavill’s contribution to the romance is needed now more than ever before because of the disappointments that the other franchises have brought him.

Henry Cavill set to become a romantic lead in The Rosie Project

The Rosie Project, as many would recognize it, is based on the famous novel by Graeme Simsion. But much like the professor in the tale who is frustrated as his pursuit of the “perfect woman” bears no fruit, the movie’s search for its perfect professor was elongated. It knocked upon the doors of known maestros of the genre, Ryan Reynolds and Jake Gyllenhaal, until finally delivering it to Henry Cavill.

While known for his love for science fiction, Cavill must have not found the script all too bad because he shook hands with Stephen Falk soon enough. The movie also confirmed Michael Costigan as its producer while stirring excitement about The Witcher actor finally playing a light-hearted role.

The Rosie Project made waves in 2021, and since then Cavill has seen a rapid downfall of his empire in the action genre. While fans hope the movie finds its way to the screens soon, there have been no recent updates regarding the same. But not all hope is lost for seeing Henry Cavill as a romantic lead.

Is the former Superman playing a romantic lead in Argylle?

Another novel-based project that brought immense relief to Henry Cavill fans is Argylle. The project has been luckier in terms of updates and production owing to the stacked cast of stars. However, it does not identify as a romance project, but more as a spy thriller.

Not only does this mean we get to see Cavill reload his biceps, but with a set of majestic images of Cavill dancing with Dua Lipa, the movie has brought fans to tears. With the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike, everything in terms of upcoming projects is witnessing a delay. But if the makers opt for an OTT release, then fans can enjoy it soon.
