The Wolverine Director James Mangold Shares His Thoughts on the Dreamy Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman Teamup for Deadpool 3
Wolverine returning to the big screen might not be fresh news. But him joining Ryan Reynolds‘ Merc with a Mouth in Deadpool 3 is what has kept the minds of people occupied these days. All the fans of this epic superhero franchise are eager to know how this crossover would turn out. Since Wade Wilson has been dead for years now and reviving him in a new world for some mysterious mission is quite intriguing. Now joining the likes of these James Mangold who has helmed two Logan films dwelled on this team-up between two lethal heroes.
The American filmmaker recently sat down with Happy Sad Confused’s Josh Horowitz to talk about his upcoming film. During the interview, he also opened up about Wolverine when the host asked his opinion about his return. Since this iconic character has already been given an exceptional ending, so how this is going to work for viewers?

In his response, Mangold said that he does not think that the upcoming movie would have any impact on Wolverine’s ending. It is normal that sequels and spin-offs are made and they depict the character from a new angle. “I’m imagining it to be some kind of Midnight Run or 48 hours with these two guys. Just on the run. That sounds amazing,” he added.
So for him, even if Deadpool 3 makes changes in this mutant character it would be fine with him. In fact, he finds it interesting the way Ryan Reynolds and his team have planned out a new storyline. However, the thing to notice here is the hint that the Oscar-nominated dropped about these two depicted in one frame.

Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman have remained lip tied about the plot of their new movie together. Or even if they did talk about it was all silent so no one gets to know anything. But this interview did give a glimpse of what their partnership would bring on-screen. Like the 59-year-old gave the reference to the 90s movie Midnight Run, it can be assumed that Deadpool and Wolverine will be action buddies.
Since the 1988 American comedy film showed a bounty hunter pursuing a former Mafia accountant who is chased by rivals, it is possible both actors would get the chance for their real-life chemistry on-screen. In the meantime, fans would have to watch to unravel all these threads till it arrives in theatres on May 3, 2024.
