The Alternate Universe of ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ Without the Disney-Fox Merger
In the Marvel Universe of Mercs and Claws, the penchant theory of Deadpool & Wolverine’s bold crossover awaits for this July slate. Being an outcome of a long legion of strikes and constant face-offs with unwarranted leaks, its battle to keep the cinematic experience intact has been quite a muddy trial. Although with the release date nearing, fans have grown quite careful in their confrontations with unauthorized exposures, a different kind of synopsis has been unearthed about the movie, in a world where Walt Disney has not yet acquired Fox.
Since Disney’s Deadpool & Wolverine still has time for revelation, what could be the harm in exploring the alternate universe of this superhero mashup?

With only a select few Marvel movies releasing this year, Deadpool & Wolverine’s stay on the priority list of MCU releases has doubled the anticipation for Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman’s return to the big screens. However, talking to Screen Rant at the SXSW conference recently, Karan Soni, who plays Dopinder in the Deadpool trilogy, shed light on some teasers from a world of this epic crossover but without Disney’s acquirement of Fox. As per him, the initial story of this threequel circled a “road trip movie”.
The plotline takes the crew to the North Pole, where “Deadpool tries to save Christmas”. Apparently, when the trailer of Deadpool & Wolverine was out, Soni was clueless about the footage’s release. Hence, recalling a date with Roshan Sethi years back, he pressed how he “recapped the plot of Deadpool 3”, which was Fox’s version. Although he “blurted” out the Hugh Jackman involvement and a lot of the plot in an attempt to impress him, the story was never made due to Walt Disney’s acquisition of Fox in 2019.
Given that the initial storyline of Deadpool & Wolverine did not actualize, it is quite difficult to pinpoint if the plot would have been a hit or a miss. But for the current plot, the record-smashing trailer views alone attest to its success.

After 6 long years, when the trailer of Deadpool & Wolverine hit the pop-up notification of every phone, the Deadpool fever unleashed in all its glory. With Deadpool’s arrival, excitement unfolded in many ways. On some occasions, it was with the surfacing of endless leaks, and on some others, it was Deadpool fighting off those leaks. Hence, when the trailer came out, it took only two days for it to show its trump card with 365 million views.
As a result, within 2 days, Deadpool & Wolverine’s trailer took the crown of the most-viewed trailer of all time. Ever since the trailer release, it is safe to say that the anticipation has only moved up the ladder and has not yet climbed down. And by all indications, the chances of the excitement dying out are rather bleak since Deadpool & Wolverine seem to be standing firm in their grab for the most-anticipated MCU release of 2024.
