Anyone But You

Earlier this year, it was announced that Sydney Sweeney was making her way into the rom-com world. She along with co-star Glen Powell, stole headlines when news broke that the two would be in the Will Gluck film, Anyone But You. While the film was a sure-fire way to showcase her acting range, things did not pan out the way everyone had expected. In fact, the teaser trailer for the film dashed the hopes that were set by the first look.

While there might be a lack of chemistry between the two co-stars, the hype for the film did not diminish in the least. The film will be the 26-year-old’s first dive into the world of comedy and is sure to have fans marveling at her growth over the years. With the trope of enemies-to-lovers, the film is said to depict two people who absolutely hate each other eventually falling in love.

Although the film is said to be making its way to theatres on 22 December 2023, there is still a possibility of delay given the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strike.

Ron Howard’s suspense thriller, Eden

After a slew of intense shows and roles, Sydney Sweeney is set to star in her first-ever suspense thriller. The star was recently added to the cast of Ron Howard’s Eden. While the film already sported an incredible cast list, her addition only left fans waiting to know more. She will be joined by Jude Law, the No Time to Die star, Ana de Armas, and The Crown‘s Vanessa Kirby.

The thriller is already highly anticipated, as it depicts real-life events that took place in the Galapagos islands. Just like the actual story, the film will also be an unsolved mystery. Initially, the film was titled, Origin of Species but has since been changed to Eden. While not much is known about the plot as of yet, it is said to show the lengths humans will go to in the search for happiness. The release date for the film has not been revealed at this time.

With 15 years in the making, there is no denying that the suspense thriller is sure to have the audience at the edge of their seats.

Marvel’s Madame Web

While Sydney Sweeney has been acting since 2009, she recently ended up bagging her first Marvel superhero film. Earlier this year, it was announced that she would be starring in the Spiderman spin-off, Madame Webb. Although she did not end up being cast as the main character, Cassandra Webb, she is set to play Julia Carpenter, who is also a superhero.

The Fifty Shades of Grey star, Dakota Johnson, will portray the title role. However, Sydney Sweeney’s excitement for her new superhero role seems to be extremely contagious. In fact, she even revealed that she had gone out and bought all the comics her character was mentioned in to brush up her knowledge. If that does not show how dedicated the star is to bringing Carpenter to life, nothing will.

So far, the Marvel film is said to make its way to theatres on 16 February 2024. Hopefully, fans will not have to deal with last-minute delays due to the ongoing Hollywood strike.

Sydney Sweeney comes back for Euphoria season 3

Another one of her upcoming projects is one that she is known for. Sydney Sweeney will be making her way back into HBO’s Euphoria for a third season. After the popularity of the show when it first came out back in 2019, the show has slid into a little bit of a slump. While season 2 was delayed due to the COVID-19 pandemic, it eventually made its way back in the beginning of 2022. Although both seasons portrayed the star’s character, Sydney Sweeney in different lights, the next season could focus on the character’s development.

From the stereotypical blonde to her sudden change in the second season, she ended up taking fans on an emotional rollercoaster ride. Given that the series is a teen drama that touches on the topics of addiction, depression, and various other societal issues, the third season is sure to have its viewers hooked. However, with the loss of Angus Cloud, many fans may want to tune in to see how the show pays respects to their beloved former co-star. Unfortunately, they will have to wait till 2025 before they finally see it.
