After working with Reynolds for the second time, Shawn Levy once talked about why he admired him so much, apart from his Canadianness.

Shawn Levy and Ryan Reynolds have been working together for a long time now. They both have various projects lined up. However, when they worked on Free Guy, Levy could not stop gushing over this fellow Canadian. During his conversation with William Mullally two years back, the director shared his thoughts about Reynolds. As the interviewer was talking about the actor, Levy interrupted him as he agreed Ryan Reynolds was a classic movie star.

The 54-year-old director also shared his experience of working with him. The Deadpool actor was also the producer for Free Guy. Remembering their days of working together, Levy appreciated Reynolds. He revealed the father of four was there with him every step of the way. Moreover, “So, Ryan is a 360 collaborator,” said Levy. However, this one quality of the 46-year-old actor touched Levy so much.

While playing various characters throughout their career, actors must know how to distinguish between different characters. Reynolds had played Wade Wilson in Deadpool before playing Guy in Free Guy. Consequently, during their initial encounter, the Canadian filmmaker conveyed to Reynolds what he expected from Guy. Levy provided an elucidation of the contrast between the two characters as well.

What made Levy admire the Red Notice star was that Reynolds gave him what Levy exactly wanted from him. In the 54-year-old’s own words, “And what I love about Free Guy is it’s still Ryan Reynolds, but it’s a very different character.” Well, apart from being Canadian, the director admired his fellow artist for his brilliant work ethic and his stunning skills as an actor as well.

Currently, apart from Deadpool 3, these two Canadians are also going to work on other projects as well. However, there are not many details revealed about their upcoming projects.
