In a heartfelt echoing of his sentiments, the filmmaker took to Instagram to post two photos of the trio of director-actors embracing each other – one before and one after the end of the flick’s filming.

Captioning the post as “Started with friendship. Ended with brotherhood,” the post featuring the warmth of their smiling brought out considerable emotion among fans. Additionally, the post also marked the director having the honor of reuniting the fan-favorite frenemy duo after nearly a decade and a half of their last outing in 2009’s X-Men Origins: Wolverine. Meanwhile, being the sole MCU flick in 2024, Deadpool 3 also carries a ton of responsibilities to fix Marvel Studios’ recent slump at the box office.

The last few releases by the Kevin Feige-led studios have landed criticism among critics and fans alike. While many pointed out visible VFX shortcomings, rushed and clogged storylines also came across as teething problems. Aiming to tackle them, Levy opted to shoot the majority of his upcoming flick outdoors and used practical props as much as possible.
