A recent Instagram story by Ryan Reynolds had him make a fun yet nervous callback to when Tyson Fury had called him out. However, much before the latter even had a chance to mock, the Red Dragons absolutely smashed their rivals, Morecambe, to the ground. At their home turf of the Racecourse Ground, an impactful three in the nets by Paul Mullin sent the opposition packing for 6-0. The chest-thumping win got the Reynolds-McElhenney side one step closer to achieving new heights.
In an absolute show of dominance, Wrexham AFC started their onslaught early with the first goal coming in the first five minutes. The subsequent proceedings saw Morecambe struggling to get a hold of the ball as their opponents surged to one goal after another. The win has taken Wrexham AFC to stand at number two in the rankings right next to Stockport for the Football League Two. Furthermore, thanks to their performance, the team is once again likely to qualify for another EFL fourth-tier campaign.
Pocketing wins may now be common for the Red Dragons, but their co-owners are not leaving even one breath to chance.
A further cash splurge from the pockets may be on the cards
Wrexham’s stellar performance in the League Two matches has drawn considerable attention to its players. Besides standing literally on the receiving end of the global spotlight, they are also on the radar of Championship clubs. The duo have already spent more than $12 million over their $2.5 million acquiring sum. However, the spending has come across as largely fruitful. A fifteen-year high in the EFL and a conclusive US Tour are bountiful evidence of it. In the two years since its Hollywood takeover, Wrexham has chiseled into one of the EFL’s well-gelled machinery and is well on its way to achieving greater glory.
