Ryan Reynolds Starrer ‘Deadpool 3’ Faces a Potential Delay, Casting Doubt on Its May 3 Summer Season Release

Out of all the movies that are getting ready to hit the screens, Deadpool 3 has truly been testing everyone’s patience. Ever since fans caught wind of the comeback of their favorite gritty anti-hero for a third installment, they have been counting down the days for its release. The desire to witness Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman sharing the same screen further amped up the anticipation. However, it seems like the movie will string its fans along for a while. 

The writers may have stepped back into their think-tank, but the actors are still keeping their fingers crossed for their demands to come through. It is the upcoming flicks in the lineup that are going to take a major hit from all this chaos, including Deadpool 3

How far is Ryan Reynolds starrer Deadpool 3 from theaters?

Deadpool 3 faced a lot of production delays, owing to the ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes in Hollywood. As per the recent updates, the Ryan Reynolds-starring superhero series will not be making its May 3 start-of-summer theatrical release date. Sources told Deadline that even if the strikes pull its strings in a few weeks, the movie will still not make it in time for its current release date as the shooting would not resume till 2024.

On the flip side, Captain America: Brave New World might grace the screen sooner than expected as it is in better shape than Deadpool 3. The fourth of the Captain America movies, which had an initial release schedule of May 3rd, 2024, might fill in this earlier slot. Meanwhile, MCU could push the release of Deadpool 3 to the July 26th slot of Brave New World. Recently, director Shawn Levy broke his silence on the disappointing rumors of Deadpool 3’s release as well.

While talking to The Wrap, the executive producer of Stranger Things, gave out a shocking update about the potential delay of Deadpool 3, owing to the ongoing actors’ strikes. As per the filmmaker, “the actors’ strike and the long pause in production have put that release date at true risk”, and the filming might take a little more time than anticipated. This is not the first time that fans have come across disappointing updates regarding the movie. From its absence from the Disney+ lineup to the slashing of Earth 383, it seems like fans of Deadpool 3 will not be able to catch a break anytime soon.
