Ever since he and Rob McElhenney decided to purchase the Red Dragons, the football team has seen nothing but success both on and off the field. In 2022, the co-owners decided to give fans more insight into the team with their documentary, Welcome to Wrexham.

Apart from the series’ global success and Emmy wins, the Reynolds and McElhenney production recently shone the spotlight on the men behind it with another prestigious award.

Ryan Reynolds shares his PGA Awards win on social media

Earlier this year, Ryan Reynolds was ecstatic to find out that his docuseries, Welcome to Wrexham, was nominated for a PGA Award. Now, a little over a month later, the actor and his co-producer, Rob McElhenney, wound up winning the award for Outstanding Producer in the Non-Fiction Television category. Just hours after the win was announced, the father of four took to X (formerly Twitter) to “thank” the awards show for his win.

Reynolds wrote, “Nothing better than being a part of Wrexham’s story.” The actors seem to have been on a winning streak since January of this year. With one Primetime Emmy and 5 Creative Arts Emmys in the bag, it is no wonder that the series was renewed so quickly after the second season had dropped on Hulu and FXNow only on 12th September, last year.

However, fans of the documentary will have to wait a short while before season three drops. After all, Reynolds’ documentary only got renewed for a new season just three months ago.

When will Welcome to Wrexham season 3 be released?

Back in November of last year, it was announced that Ryan Reynolds’ Welcome to Wrexham had been renewed for a new season. With season 2 having been released only a month earlier, the new season was expected to take some time. However, that has not been the case with the documentary. Instead, they have somehow managed to confirm the release date as April 18th, 2024.

Thankfully, for football fans, that means the wait will not last for long. While it might be an exciting time for fans of the football team, it seems to be an even greater time for Reynolds fans with various releases planned throughout this year.
