Back in November 2020, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney came together and bought the long-struggling football club, Wrexham AFC. The deal was a process of 8 years and investing somewhere around $2 million for the club to revive. The actors aim to grow the team and return to the English Football League. Reynolds has been doing everything in his power to help support the club and his wife, Blake Lively, is not behind. 

Being the power couple of Hollywood, Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are also the power couple of Racecourse Grounds. From purchasing an estate to stay near the club to cheering their heart out to support the Welsh, the couple is all in. And now it seems like Lively is helping Reynolds to get his own museum. 

Reynold’s ‘Wrexham Museum’ and Lively’s role

In a recent episode of the RobRyanRed podcast, Reynolds explained how Lively and his two daughters, Inez and James, are doing all they can to make his little museum a reality. The owner of Ben Foster’s t-shirt described he still continues to get something or the other home from Wrexham and, in turn, he gets nothing but support from his family.

“I like bringing a little piece of that home with me every time,” said Reynolds in the podcast. He described how Lively and his girls are the ‘engine’ in making his little ‘museum’ as they always ask him to bring a little something. Recently, Reynolds’s daughters made it to Taylor Swift’s, Eras Tour, where they found their favorite aunt waving at them, a moment any fan would cherish.

Not only this, even McElhenney said that he is building a collection. Reynolds also added that Wrexham is the biggest pride of his life. With their efforts, the club has successfully qualified for league 2 which has made the team and the fans more enthusiastic than ever. 

What has changed for Wrexham AFC ever since Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney joined hands?

It has been all sunny and bright for the Welsh football club since their guardians arrived. With the club able to make a reputation after their win, the actors now also aim to change the air around the Racecourse Grounds as well. Even the Welsh government is willing to give £17m for the ground renovation. 

The actors also aim to have the best players on the team. All of this has elevated the spirits and fostered a sense of excitement and optimism within the community. A testament to this will be the performance by the band, Kings of Leon,  as a part of their tour.
