Ryan Reynolds Hops Into the Bandwagon of George Clooney Led Actors to Make Peace With SAG AFTRA, After Roasting It’s Halloween Rules
Ryan Reynolds has shown solidarity with the actors’ union since day one. Despite facing major delays in his much-awaited film Deadpool 3, the Canadian superstar stood with SAG-AFTRA. Not just words, but also his actions also stated how much he cared for people who had been standing on pickets for three months. The actor and his wife Blake Lively donated $1 million to the foundation funds so protestors could have an emergency financial backup. However, he was not done yet.
After supporting the union in its fight with both his pocket and picket signs, the actor has joined the likes of George Clooney in another spectacular show of support.

With every passing day, it is becoming more difficult for actors to strike on the pickets. So George Clooney and other A-listers recently sat down on a Zoom Call with SAG-AFTRA leaders to find a solution on Tuesday. Sources of The Hollywood Reporter stated that the actors, Ryan Reynolds, Ben Affleck, Jennifer Aniston, Reese Witherspoon, Scarlett Johansson, and others sat down to have a call.
The outlet’s report suggests actors are requesting the guild to lift the cap on dues for high-earning members. The current package stands at $1 million in earnings. The reason behind this decision was to tide over the negotiations between the union and what the AMPTP has to offer. Also, this A-lister group “seeks to get lower-income members paid in residuals before higher-income members.” In simple words, the stars’ idea came to resolve all the disagreements that have been delaying the new deal.
This news came only hours after the Free Guy star roasted their Halloween costume guidelines with his tweet. Meanwhile, for these negotiations to find common ground, Reynolds’ Merc with a Mouth has been pushed back.
Deadpool 3 faces delay owing to the actors’ strike
Deadpool 3 might not hit the theater at its scheduled time, which was May 3, 2024. Even if the SAG-AFTRA strike ends in the coming weeks, it would be impossible for creators to wrap things up. Though director Shawn Levy also teased recently he has shot and edited half the film, there is much to do. And while Reynolds may be the antihero in the movie, with his efforts to get the movie rolling on the screens as soon as promised, he is nothing short of a superhero.

There is a possibility, however, that the current crisis will harm the much-awaited project and the release date would likely shift to July. The Marvel Cinematic Universe has faced significant disruptions because of the writers’ and actors’ strikes, with an array of projects getting delayed. Fans are counting on Reynolds to come to a commendable agreement as soon as possible.
