Very few superhero films have hit the sweet spot of irreverent wit and gripping action like the Deadpool franchise. According to the latest scoop, Deadpool 3 is set to showcase mutants from various X-Men films, such as X2 and X-MEN: FIRST CLASS. Furthermore, the film will introduce other mutant variations. The much-anticipated superhero film is gearing up to unleash the dynamic combination of Ryan Reynolds‘ Wade Wilson and Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine.

Deadpool 3, however, is not merely bringing the Merc with a Mouth and his penchant for breaking the fourth wall to the MCU. Rumor has it that the film will play a crucial part in setting the stage for the multiversal showdown in Avengers: Secret Wars as well. According to Hollywood insider Daniel Richtman, Deadpool 3  has been gearing up to be a cornerstone in Marvel’s current Multiverse Saga. 

Richtman also asserted that the studio is betting big on the film’s excellence, confident that it will play a substantial role in laying the groundwork for the events leading up to 2027’s Avengers: Secret Wars. Additionally, DanielRPK, a source with a proven track record, disclosed that Dafne Keen is set to reprise her role as Laura Kinney, a.k.a X-23, in Deadpool 3 as well. 

Following the surge of speculation, official statements and leaks have now confirmed the appearances of Jennifer Garner’s Elektra and the menacing Sabretooth. Yet, here are a few other characters from the mutant franchise that could perfectly complement the irreverent charisma of Reynolds’ Deadpool and Jackman’s Wolverine.

Deadpool 3 could welcome these X-Men mutants into the franchise

First up is Professor Charles Xavier, who met his demise in a memorable cameo during 2022’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. Given Deadpool 3‘s space-time continuum, the return of this cerebral mastermind is plausible. Moving on to Magneto, who stands as one of the rare adversaries to have bested Logan before. An epic clash between these characters would undoubtedly be epic. 

In Magneto’s eyes, Wolverine wasn’t just a puzzle with metal claws, he represented a possible ally in the mutant hustle. Therefore, he could be the perfect character to throw a curveball at Jackman’s Wolverine, making him second-guess his allegiances. Since Deadpool 3 still has months left before hitting the screens, fans might see the rumor mill churning out more potential additions in the coming days.
