Ryan Reynolds bears a stiff reputation for not only his acting prowess but also his supportive administration of the co-owned Welsh football team, Wrexham AFC. Taking to his Instagram stories, the Deadpool 3 star shared a post celebrating his team’s 2-0 triumph over the visiting Newport County. The win held importance as it broke a 120-year-old record for the Red Dragons as they clinched their 49th successive home league match in front of an over 12,000 crowd at the Racecourse Ground.

The dominant show by Reynolds’ team even prompted the County’s chief, Graham Coughlan, to remark that Wrexham was “not on the same planet” as his team. Although a head-to-head counter-offensive did start, neither of the teams managed to score one in the first half. The first breakthrough came at the hands of James Jones in the 64th minute, followed by a brilliant kick-in by Elliot Lee in the 87th minute.

In the meantime, the Red Dragons are in their fierce mode to eventually crack their way into the premier league.

Wrexham AFC stands relentless to enter the Premier League

Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney first had their breakthrough when Wrexham AFC qualified for the EFL League Two after 15 long years. Securing an automatic promotion thanks to their fighting spirits, the Red Dragons are ever so resilient in marching ahead. As of now, the Welsh team stands in the third position in League Two with 43 points, tied with Barrow.

Wrexham AFC has to make their way through three more rounds of promotion before earning a Premier League berth. Facing off against some of the most well-gelled teams, the earliest the Red Dragons may secure a berth would be by 2027, give or take a year. Regardless of the uphill challenges, steps such as the co-owners’ possible upcoming investments stand firm to make it a possibility.

In the wave of massive leaks coming from Deadpool 3 sets, a creative difference has reportedly set in between Ryan Reynolds and Marvel Studios. While the 47-year-old lead took sufficient counter-measures such as spamming fake leaks, the studio reportedly sought to herald the movie in a new direction. Unwilling to take it in, the lead actor may face the wrath of Disney CEO Bob Iger, showing him the door.

The first R-rated MCU flick has found it hard to continue shooting in the open owing to rampant leaks. Director Shawn Levy’s wish to keep VFX and CGI to a bare minimum and emphasize practical effects and physical locations now comes at loggerheads with the studio. Regardless, Deadpool 3 still stands firm on its July 26, 2024 release date.
