Wrexham owners  Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney made an advertisement to announce their team getting travel sponsorship from insurance company Geico. The American auto insurance company has sponsored the team’s travel to the USA for their friendly matches. They began the announcement in McElhenney’s It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia style.

The comedian calls the actor to share the sponsorship news by showing a jersey. Seeing the red jersey, Reynolds assumes that ace player Lionel Messi will be joining the team. His friend then clarifies that the t-shirt with Gecko written on the back is actually a symbolic message of the brand backing their team for the summer tour. The company’s mascot, a lizard, appears on the screen, showing off the sponsorship.

The Wrexham team has a lot more excited about the changes and opportunities ahead.

What is Wrexham doing in the USA?

Wrexham AFC will kick off its friendly match with Chelsea soon at Chapel Hill soon. This will be followed by another match against Manchester United on 25th July at Snapdragon Stadium, San Diego. They will also be playing against the American teams Philadelphia Union and LA Galaxy II.

Talking of sponsorship, their practice jerseys have been sponsored by Blake Lively’s brand Betty Buzz. Their victory has also won support from the government for the renovation of their Racecourse ground for a wider audience to fit in.
