Greta Gerwig has spun some sort of magic as she brings back the omnipresent Barbie to life once again. Contrary to Barbie, who can be spotted at every other store, Greta Gerwig’s movie based on the toy has barely given out anything, except for Ryan Gosling, Margot Robbie, and now a Barbie soundtrack. Apart from being an assault to the senses with its neon sets and costumes, the trailer made it clear that the movie will ride the coattails of a brilliant soundtrack featuring some of the most loved artists, including an unexpected one.

As Gerwig left most to the imagination, fans were left bouncing off the walls. Many believed with all their hearts that Aqua’s 199 pop hit ‘Barbie Girl’ will bellow from the speakers on the 21st of July while others concluded a pink outfit on any artist as a hint to them featuring on the Barbie soundtrack. However, despite having the gift of imagination, no one could have predicted that Ryan Gosling will have his own track on the movie.

Despite stealing all Grammy winners, all eyes have zeroed upon the name of Ryan Gosling on the lineup. And one can’t help but go back to his La La Land glory days. Sebastian becoming a big enough artist to feature on the Barbie soundtrack was not on anyone’s Bingo card, but fate had other plans.

The Canadian actor blessed fans with his soothing voice as he sang ‘City of Stars’ in La La Land. Gosling actually underwent singing training for the role of Sebastian. And he is going to put it to impress Barbie as Ken. However, Ken is not a character whose lifelong dream is to become an artist, making us wonder what kind of track is Ryan Gosling going to belt out in the anticipated movie.

Fans react to seeing Ryan Gosling on the Barbie album lineup

Ryan Gosling has exceeded the excitement of his own fandom as he declares Ken to be his true calling time and again. And the hype surrounding his Ken has proved that it might be Barbie’s world, but Ken is definitely thriving in it. Given his prominence as an actor, many forget that Gosling is not a newcomer to music.

While his musical finesse only became visible when he sang ‘City of Stars’, Gosling has been singing since his time at Disney. And although he may stick out in Barbie’s lineup of award-winning musicians, fans are manifesting a Grammy for him this time around.

Gosling’s track even before its release has been deemed a Spotify No.1 by his fans as they squeal with excitement. While fans are already pretty content with the lineup, the announcement further reads ‘More Barbies and Kens to be announced’, making us seriously question if Greta Gerwig is releasing a movie or just unpacking Santa’s Bag a little too early.
