The highly anticipated 2024 American action comedy film, The Fall Guy, featuring Ryan Gosling and Emily Blunt, premiered at SXSW on March 12, 2024, and is set to hit theaters across the United States via Universal Pictures on May 3, 2024. However, even before hitting theaters, the movie achieved a surprising milestone that caught everyone off guard.

Just recently, The Fall Guy shattered a new Guinness World Record with a stunt featuring a car executing 8 and a half cannon rolls. Drawing inspiration from the beloved 1980s TV show, The Fall Guy is brought to life by director and former stuntman David Leitch. This monumental achievement in director Leitch’s latest blockbuster outshone the previous record set by stuntman Adam Kirley, who pulled off seven cannon rolls during the filming of 2006’s Casino Royale.

Leitch is a genius when it comes to heart-pounding action, as seen in the contribution of his  87North Productions in films such as Bullet Train, Deadpool 2, and Atomic Blonde. This high-octane flick is tailor made for those who dash towards the Waterworld stunt extravaganza upon entering Universal Studios.

As soon as fans caught wind of this accomplishment, they flooded X, formerly Twitter, with expressions of anticipation for the movie’s premiere.

For instance, back in 2015, the James Bond flick Spectre secured the title for the largest film stunt explosion. Now, with The Fall Guy making headlines for its achievement, fans looked back at the previous film that once boasted the same record.

Their jaws dropped in disbelief at the milestone, and they applauded the movie for smashing the record.

This new record also heightened fans’ excitement for the upcoming movie’s release in theaters.
