The world is waiting with an undefeated gaze to hop on the July retreat of Deadpool & Wolverine’s heroic confluence. Simultaneously, MCU fans have also been counting the days for Ryan Reynolds to greet the world in Marvel’s Merc with a Mouth style. Yet, in an unprecedented crossover, it seems that Reynolds’ longtime pal, Rob McElhenney, has emerged as a popular pick for Deadpool’s iconic red and black spandex. So does that mean a best friend swap for the anti-heroic hero of Marvel?

Not just Reynolds and Blake Lively, but as of now, McElhenney too is joining the Deadpool mania, safely belting in the Deadpool avatar. Hence, taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle recently, McElhenney shared an AI-generated image by Alexis Ohanian of himself as Deadpool with hilarious but cheeky altercations. Instead of a super charmer spandex suit, the creator donned McElhenney in a cropped one, traveling quite the distance in a time capsule. But to McElhenney, the show was rather impressive because he seems ready for Reynolds to “pass the baton” to him.

McElhenny also tagged the Deadpool actor’s X (formerly Twitter) handle to ask if there has been a time trade for Deadpool. Well, if yes, who else can better strap in the red-black spandex than Deadpool’s off-screen and on-field best friend? However, if there really has been a temporal shift, this quirky Deadpool could be the MCU’s savior if Reynolds’ “Marvel Jesus” takes his time off.

While more about the time switch will perhaps make a revelation on July 26th, till then fans have a humorous thread waiting for this crop-top Deadpool to make the best of his MCU time.

Fans go berserk with Rob McElhenney’s Deadpool avatar

Ever since Deadpool’s inception in the Marvel Universe, MCU fans had been quite sure that no other actor could match that standard of hilarity like Ryan Reynolds. Considering his quick wit, honestly, no one even stood in close contention to Reynolds. Yet, it seems a Rob McElhenney Deadpool could be a hit with the fans, well at least, their reactions say so.

Most fans were entirely consumed in the AI creation. Others were ready to convince Deadpool to hand over his suit. While some others could not find Reynolds’ record industry bestie, Taylor Swift despite Dazzler’s speculations, in the reference, they did find her beau’s brother, nevertheless.

By all indications, it seems that McElhenney’s entry into the Marvel Universe, even virtually, has become a propeller of social visits. Not only so, but it is also leading to fan theories of epic comic relief. While it is visible that the post is nothing but a healthy parody of his best friend’s Marvel depiction, it makes one wonder what if Deadpool & Wolverine were to feature a McElhenney Deadpool avatar from perhaps a different multiverse to amplify the drolleries?
