Ryan Reynolds and Blake Lively are Hollywood’s most beloved couple. From their first meeting in 2010’s Green Lantern to eventually getting married in 2012, the power couple has surely come a long way. Further, the Deadpool 3 actor is an OG sarcasm king on screen as well as off-screen. He and his wife can be frequently seen engaging in playful banter and pranks online. But one such comedy jibe landed the Deadpool actor in trouble.

A comment that the Deadpool actor made towards English professional footballer Ollie Palmer was not received well on the internet, resulting in much furor. However, he set the record straight with Palmer.

Ryan Reynolds’s heartfelt apology

While talking exclusively on the Fearless in Devotion podcast in May, Ryan Reynolds shared his playful equation with Wrexham player Ollie Palmer. He further mentioned that every time his family comes to watch the game and walks down to the dressing room the Wrexham player walks out completely shirtless to have a conversation with Blake Lively. To which he responded, “Ollie put on a f***ing shirt” and asking Palmer to speak to her like a gentleman. A funny jibe that was later blown out of proportion and the actor felt the need to apologize.

The footballer found himself in the middle of a media storm after the joke went public. Further, while talking on The Sports Breakfast recently, Palmer revealed that the majority of players take their shirts off after a game; he just did not put one back on when he saw them. He further revealed that the Deadpool actor messaged him, “I’m so sorry,” after the entire context of the joke was taken out of line. There was no bad blood, however, because the joke was a typical Ryan Reynolds affair.

Reynolds is known for his sarcastic digs and pranks, especially concerning his wife. But on the other hand, he is also a loving husband and a father.

The actor’s love for his family

At the 36th Annual American Cinematheque Awards, he was asked, how is he taking care of his wife during pregnancy. The actor’s response melted everyone’s hearts. He revealed that he and his kids rally around her and help her in whatever way they can. Further saying, “We take care of momma.” In the same event, Blake Lively’s speech for her husband moved everyone sitting there.

When the actor was being awarded as the 36th recipient, his wife was called on stage to give a speech. In her speech, the actress mentioned how, despite his busy schedule, the actor rushes back home to be with her and their kids. Further saying, “Like a 19-year-old boy,” he rushes back home.
