With Jimmy Kimmel stepping back from the hosting spotlight, the Deadpool & Wolverine duo has climbed to the top of the Oscars’ wish list, solidifying their reputation as “the two biggest movie stars of the year.”

While the insider revealed that Reynolds and Jackman have not officially given the thumbs up, if they do, the Academy might need to dig deep into its pockets to snag these stars for their “lending their star power.” This comes hot on the heels of Deadpool & Wolverine’s latest Oscar campaign, and rumor has it Reynolds might just turn the Oscars into “a multimedia advertising bonanza,” just like he did with their film.

According to the insider’s conversation with In Touch Weekly, who revealed Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman are the top contenders for the Oscar hosting gig in 2025, if they sign on, they could be looking at a “seven-figure payday”. The insider hinted these stars would totally use this opportunity to promote their upcoming films, Animal Friends and The Death of Robinhood, in 2025.

Jackman already has some hosting experience from five years ago, but teaming up with Reynolds is expected to unleash an even bigger spectacle. Sure, the Academy has cheaper options, but tapping these two would create a laughter parade destined to be a smash hit.
