The Hitch star portrayed the fan-favorite Disney character, Genie, in the 2019 film Aladdin. While talking to Jay Shetty about his career, the actor revealed he had written about the concept in one of his diaries. “At my core, that’s either who I am or who I want to be,” admitted Smith, referring to his character as Genie. Playing the Disney character in the year 2019 made the Fresh Prince feel like he was home.

From the combination of fun, light, and silliness to imparting his wisdom to Aladdin, it inspired the Philadelphia-born star to be like that in the real world. Perhaps it was not only the wit that drew the actor to this character but also the sheer fun involved, as the Bad Boys star revealed he would want to sing, dance, be silly and play while sneaking the ideas.
