Deadpool has become the talk of the town as of late. The character notably famous for its mouthed antics and hilarious fourth wall breaks is returning to the big screen with Marvel Studios’ Deadpool 3. Meanwhile the character’s creator, Rob Liefeld, recently opined on his favorite DC movie of all time. And let’s just say he is truly unbiased as he did not pick Ryan Reynolds but sided with the now superhero under-dog, Henry Cavill.

It seems like Liefeld’s ability to stir a plot twist is not restricted to larger-than-life superhero movies and also shines in his personal preferences.

In a recent tweet, Rob Liefeld vetted his coveted vote for the best DC movie as of yet for him to Zack Snyder’s 2013 movie Man Of Steel. The director’s DC debut, which kick-started his vision for the DC Extended Universe (DCEU) was a critical divisor. The movie featured Henry Cavill in a serious and gritty tone. The red-caped superhero divided fans and critics in this flick as certain sections loved the portrayal while others stated that it departed from the light-hearted nature they were used to. 

Liefeld’s tweet comes at a time when his own character, Deadpool, is touching highs while his favorite DC movie is at a contrasting odd. At one end of the spectrum, when Deadpool 3 is gearing up to be one of Hollywood’s biggest flicks, DC’s Superman is under reinvention. Regardless, it stands clear that the iconic take on Superman by Henry Cavill struck a chord with Rob Liefeld, which is an achievement in itself.

Cavill is no longer a part of the universe, much to the dismay of fans. But the retirement of the Man of Steel actor is not the only aspect of Gunn’s Superman that fans are against.

That was until James Gunn decided to pass the torch to a younger actor.

 Gunn also parted ways with equally beloved Batman actor, Ben Affleck while Gal Gadot from Zack Snyder’s original Trinity stays behind to reprise her role in an upcoming threequel. As such, with little to no details about the future of the franchise, fans can hardly do anything but wait.
