Months After the Renaming, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney Forge Ahead With Wrexham Racecourse Ground Vision

With a step up in the League and a series, Welcome to Wrexham, it is no surprise that headlines have been filled with news about them. Although fans recently got another update about the star’s co-purchase with Rob McElhenney. While it was not about the team per se, it was something that the co-owners had been waiting for.
In fact, they had stunned fans months ago when they announced a rebranding of Wrexham’s The Racecourse Ground. Now, the actors have taken up another surprising endeavor to work on.

In a surprising turn of events, Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney were finally offered the lease for Wrexham’s Racecourse Grounds. While it had gone on for months, the Wrexham Supporters Trust seemed to reach a decision that everyone would benefit from. According to the statement on Wrexham AFC’s official website, they agreed to surrender the lease only if the actors promised to keep the beloved team on the ground.
Now, the team will continue to play at the ground until June 30, 2115. The terms also state that Wrexham would pay $2,33,137 once the lease was given up. It may have been a difficult decision but Reynolds and McElhenney have obviously scooped the opportunity up. However, this could help them get back to the development plans that they had for the ground.
In fact, months before all of this had unfolded, the co-owners showed their interest in the field in a rather surprising way.

In May of this year, Ryan Reynold and Rob McElhenney decided it was time to switch things up a little bit in regard to Wrexham. After they made a new sponsorship deal with SToK Cold Brew Coffee. Under the terms of the deal, the actors announced that the teams’ Racecourse Grounds would be getting a makeover starting with a name change. In a video online, they revealed that the stadium would be called SToK Cae Ras.
While the way they announced the change was adorable, not everyone was too happy about the change. However, the co-owners seemed pretty pleased with their decision. As the Hollywood icons continue to spearhead their transformative vision for the historic venue, the rest of the football world will have to wait and see what exactly they have in store.
