Deadpool 3 is one of the highly anticipated projects of this year. And the strike halting its production was nothing less of a nightmare for fans. However, the WGA union reaching an agreement has brought in a new update for the movie. Recently, Variety reported that after SAG-AFTRA reaches an agreement, the production of Deadpool 3 will be prioritized and fast-tracked back into production. The news indeed is an update to look out for as the film was halted mid-way in production back in July.
In fact, fans were not the only ones who have been waiting for an update. Recently the director, Shawn Levy, even shared a picture of him and his leading men, Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman. However, it was the caption that may have caused this entire situation to unfold, as it hinted at the fact that the trio wanted to get back to shooting, and it looks like that may have happened sooner than expected.
The sudden announcement of plans to fast-track production has come to light after the WGA strike reached its end just a few days ago. While fans might have to wait until the SAG-AFTRA reaches an agreement, this update has definitely stirred hopes among fans.

It has just been mere days since the WGA strike came to an end. However, the SAG-AFTRA strike has not reached an agreement with the studios as of yet. But with the acting world at a standstill, it is no surprise that production teams will have to jump into motion when the strike finally does reach its end. So far, the studios have set a date to hold talks that should help reach an agreement, October 2nd.
While the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike might not be too far ahead, with the writers back in action, a lot of shows and movies can finally get their scripts completed. Along with Ryan Reynolds’ Deadpool 3, Netflix shows like Stranger Things, Wednesday and Cobra Kai will also be prioritized by Netflix. However, whether the Merc of the Mouth will make it to theatres on its original release date is something only time can tell.
