Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney have attracted some famous friends to the Wrexham story since they took over the club. In the past three years, fans have witnessed several celebrities and league players attending the matches. From the actor and comedian Will Ferrel to the football royalty David Beckham, the stands have been filled with famous faces. In fact, King Charles and Queen Consort Camilla graced the Racecourse Ground, turning the attention of the world towards it.

Now another A-list personality paid a visit to the team for their match against Colchester United. And it is none other than the Marvel Studios head himself, Kevin Feige.

Kevin Feige, the president of Marvel Studios, joined Ryan Reynolds and his trainer Don Saladino at Wrexham’s match against Colchester United on December 16th, 2023. Pictures surfaced on social media showing him posing with the actor on the Racecourse Ground. Another notable personality was the stunt double Alex Kyshkovych, who has done Reynolds’ action sequences in all the Deadpool films and Red Notice too.

The presence of the Marvel Studios head, along with the Free Guy star, sent a wave of excitement through the grounds as they added a touch of Hollywood glamor to the League Two clash. Wrexham team won the game 2-0, credit to goals from Elliot Lee and Jordan Tunnicliffe. For this match, about 10,000 fans gathered and cheered the team alongside these beloved A-listers.

This, however, was certainly not the first time Marvel’s boss showed his support for the club.

In August, Feige made a low-key appearance at the Racecourse Ground, which marked the first time he attended a Wrexham match. Instead of taking the limelight, he showed support to the team from the stands with some friends. Feige’s presence serves as a sign of unity and belief in the club’s future under Reynolds and McElhenney’s ownership.

With Feige’s backing, who knows what the future holds for the Red Dragons, considering there have been rumors that the players would appear in the latest Deadpool installment. However, it remains unclear if it will happen or not as the creators have been lip-tight about the plotlines of the upcoming movie. Deadpool 3 will hit theaters on 26 July 2024.
