Lost ‘Green Lantern’ to Ryan Reynolds 12 Years Ago, Bradley Cooper Might Just Get His DC Call From James Gunn for This Iconic DC Superhero
It has been official for quite some time now that James Gunn and Peter Safran have taken over the DC Studios. They aim to reboot the entire universe to give it another direction. With upcoming projects, all eyes are now on the new DC bosses. Amidst the big change in the DCU, Bradley Cooper is rumored to join the Studio after losing Green Lantern to Ryan Reynolds.
12 years ago, it was a question of existence for the Vancouver-born actor, as his Green Lantern failed miserably. It might be a blessing in disguise for Cooper, as he achieved a lot during those years. However, as ComicBookCast2 speculated, Bradley Cooper might finally get his DC call to play the older Batman in Gunn’s upcoming Batman film.

If you are a Cooper fan, you would know he had auditioned for multiple DC roles previously in his career. However, he ended up losing them all. The American Sniper star once admitted he even mimicked Christian Bale’s Batman while auditioning to play Green Lantern. Unfortunately, the production team was looking for more comic personality which Cooper could not deliver. Therefore, he lost the role, and it went to Ryan Reynolds.

Green Lantern hit theaters in the year 2011. Even the Deadpool star frequently makes fun of this DC movie as he was not satisfied with the film as well. Although it took a while for the 46-year-old actor to get back again, the Silver Linings Playbook star received the highest recognition for his performances in different projects.

The Hangover star found greater success with the romantic comedy Silver Linings Playbook in the year 2012, followed by the black comedy American Hustle in 2013. Cooper also starred in the war biopic titled American Sniper in 2014, which he also produced. For his work in these films, he got four Academy Awards nominations as well.
The 48-year-old actor is also a part of Gunn’s Guardians of the Galaxy as well. Now, with tremendous success with Marvel Cinematic Universe, Cooper might get the entry into the DC Universe with James Gunn in Brave and The Bold.
