HBO Max’s The White Lotus has become one of the most successful shows in recent years. It drew widespread applause and critical acclaim for its outlandish approach to dark comedy and surprising plot. In fact, in just two seasons, the series has racked up 20 Emmy nominations and received 10 out of it. Since the second season set the internet ablaze with its twisted and jaw-dropping story, fans have been wondering what season 3 would be about.

Luckily for them, the creator of the show has finally shared details about the third installment in a new interview.

The White Lotus season 3 will be bigger than ever  

The White Lotus creator, Mike White, recently sat down with Variety to talk about season 3. In this interview, he revealed the season will be “supersized.” “It’s going to be longer, bigger, crazier,” said the American writer. He looked excited about the upcoming season because of the content it will offer viewers this time. Like always, he has stored something amazing that will leave fans mesmerized.

The 53-year-old continued that he had almost completed the scripts and is waiting for the SAF-AFTRA strike to conclude. Since every season of the anthology involves new characters and plots, they must find new casting members. However, if the strike does not conclude soon, they might push again for casting and shooting. The only thing that has been confirmed so far is the location of production.

Variety confirmed in March that the filming will take place in Thailand. Season 3 was in its initial stages of prepping when the writers’ strike halted everything. Despite this delay, the excitement for this season has only grown because of the return of fan-favorite stars.

Mike White teased the return of this notable star of the show

In October 2022, Mike White did an interview with Deadline talking about the season 3 cast and location. During the discussion, he hinted at the return of Jennifer Coolidge, who won an Emmy for her role in the show. He said that fans loved her on the show, so he brought her back for season 2. “And maybe that’s still the case. Like, maybe you can’t go to Japan without Jennifer, either,” added the California native.

The return of Coolidge, however, remains a mystery as her character, Tanya, died in season 2. Only time will tell if the creator gives her a new role or adds new twists to her demise. Other than the American actress, several famous actors have expressed their interest in joining the new adventure. Until then, one can only anticipate what can happen next!
