In an interview with People yesterday, Shawn Levy addressed the exceptionally R-rated nature of Deadpool 3. To begin with, his remarking, “It has corrupted my soul in ways that might be irrevocable” promised hilarious inappropriate quips and scenes the flick will feature. Then, he confessed to having spoken with Reynolds about how he was once “a nice Canadian boy who didn’t” create such eyebrow-raising material.
By helming the Merc with a Mouth’s return in Deadpool 3, the Stranger Things director felt he was now “riffing R-rated content”, that too with “the best in the business”. So, he may have had to indulge some of the darker recesses of his mind, but he still had “fun” doing it. Last month, the 55-year-old showcased the ‘brotherhood’ he had formed with the two leads from the upcoming Marvel movie in a heartwarming post.
Some other comments he made about Deadpool 3’s main cast reflected his immense adoration for them as well.

Besides revealing his transformation through Deadpool 3 in the interview, Levy also touched on what fans can look forward to in the flick. While deeming both of his flick’s leads “professionals” and the “loveliest of gentlemen”, he remarked that “something electric happens” when they put on their superhero garbs. His words came as a testament to not only Reynolds and Jackman’s undeniable chemistry.
Even in the past, he has commented on the high regard both superstars hold each other in. So much so, that Reynolds would even refuse to defeat Wolverine as Deadpool sometimes. As for Levy, the “thrill” of being amidst such “icons” gripped him on most days. Apparently, this dynamic trio continues to spend plenty of “time together”, further strengthening their touching bond.
