There are a handful of performances that majorly contribute to the show’s success and are the sole shining light of a particular show. Fitting the bill is Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby on Netflix’s Peaky Blinders. One cannot deny that Murphy’s performance in the show was iconic. And recently, the actor shed some light on upcoming Peaky Blinders projects.

Peaky Blinders has always been a project to look out for. Not long ago, the much-anticipated sixth season of the show came to an end. Following the conclusion of season 6, talks of an upcoming Peaky Blinders film began immediately with showrunner Steve Knight confirming the same. Since then, months have passed and the fans are curious to know more about the movie. Recently, during the BAFTA awards, the Inception star gave some updates about the same.

While speaking to a journalist, Murphy revealed, “If there’s more story to tell, I’m gonna be there. But I don’t have any specific updates. I have no exclusives I can give you, I’m afraid.“

The interviewer even shed some light on the season 6 ending that left many puzzled. Following her statement, she added a follow-up question on where the story will go from there. The Irish actor had an interesting answer to it without giving away any spoilers. Murphy replied how that is the main question they need to ask themselves. Meanwhile, Murphy’s statements were in contradiction to what showrunner Steve Knight had to say about the film.

Back in 2022, the writer sat down with NME where he talked in great depth about the upcoming Peaky Blinders movie. Knight revealed how he had already started writing the film and added how he had nearly completed. However, since then there seem to be no updates about the same.

Apart from Peaky Blinders, Cillian Murphy will make a comeback to the screen with another project

While fans may be waiting on the upcoming Peaky Blinders film to witness Murphy on the screen, fans can catch a glimpse of the actor soon. As we all know, the actor will be gracing our screens with the upcoming Christopher Nolan project, Oppenheimer. It will mark the sixth time the iconic duo of Murphy and Nolan will come together.

The Inception star will star as the lead playing the renowned theoretical physicist J. Robert Oppenheimer. Oppenheimer played a huge role in the Manhattan project to develop the atomic bombs. As of late, the film will grace our screens on July 21 2023. Not long ago, rumors of Nolan delaying the release date for the film due to clash with Ryan Gosling’s Barbie surfaced online. However, there is no confirmation for the same.
