Many of you might not know, but the Oscar-winning actor decided to take a break from acting after the 2015 film Focus. And when Smith made an appearance on Kevin Hart’s show recently, the comedian was quick enough to point out the same. Apparently, Smith had a genuine reason behind it. The actor revealed on Hart to Heart, “I saw you and The Rock whooping my ass at the box office.“
However, one cannot blame Smith for taking a break. It was during the time when Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart were delivering some of their biggest hits at the box office. As hilarious as it sounds, the I Am Legend actor even admitted to being slightly envious of Hart and Johnson’s friendship. The actor spoke about how, despite him and Hart sharing the Philadelphia bond, the comedian got closer to Johnson. Smith added, “I was like, he got a new friend now.“
However, Hart and Smith’s friendship has remained strong over the years, a highlight of which was evident when the comedian stood by the actor after the slapgate controversies.

Both the Hollywood stars share a common background and it is nothing but pure brotherly love between the two Philadelphians. Throughout his interview, the comedian seemed to be in awe of the actor. Hart ended the interview on a perfect note as he credited Smith for inspiring and being someone he always looked up to.
