Henry Cavill and his fans saw the actor fall from his most prominent roles last year. In what is perhaps the saddest rendition of what came first, the chicken or the egg, the actor marked his exit from The Witcher and DC in months. Several opportunities in the form of a confusing and even misleading farewell sequence from The Witcher Season 3 and a rumored comeback in DC presented themselves to fill the empty oil tunnels in the hearts of Cavill fans, to no avail. But what two multi-million dollar production houses could not do was done by a small poodle of joy.

Henry Cavill makes his happiest announcement in months

The British actor addressed the rumors of his exit from DC through an Instagram post which will now go down in the books of the Cavill fandom as the ‘Pearl Harbor’. Since then he has entertained his fans with two exciting announcements, but the sorrow from his long address to fans still remained. That is, until the former Superman penned down another heartwarming message equipped with two joyous pictures of his dogs. His trusted comrade, Kal, and a new member, Meat.

In the post that has brought fans much happiness since June, the actor confirmed the sad news of their French Bulldog, Meat, passing away. Thankfully, both he and his lady love, Natalie Viscuso, have made amends with the loss owing to the dog having lived a brilliant and long life of fourteen and a half years.

It also was a great help that they found “a little terror and also a little wonder” very soon afterward. But as the British actor highlighted this personal milestone of his “healing” journey, he let slip that he has opened a new chapter in his life. And never one to skip a chapter from Cavill’s life, fans are bouncing off the walls to read what it entails.

What does the future hold for Cavill?

As the former Geralt met with back-to-back losses, fans were hopeful that his career would take the same trajectory it had back in the mid-2010s when the loss of Twilight, Harry Potter, and Casino Royale was reimbursed with the role of Superman.

Given that the search for the new 007 is still on, a blockbuster comeback that would stomp the rumors of his dwindling relevance with fervor is still pending. This is not to say that the actor’s glass is not half full with an exclusive Prime Videos collaboration and a spy thriller that ticks all the boxes of a blockbuster.
