A report by Giant Freakin Robot stated one of its trusted sources disclosed that Henry Cavill would appear as Wolverine in the upcoming Deadpool & Wolverine as a variant of the character.

Currently unverified, the appearance could potentially spike the anticipation of the forthcoming July 26 release of the Marvel juggernaut. Although the first teaser drop during the Super Bowl hinted at Wolverine variants running amok, none of those found themselves linked to Cavill. Furthermore, with the source having accurately stated past information to the publication, its correctness may stand justified, marking a new state of affairs for comic book movie fans.

Interestingly, Henry Cavill popping up as Wolverine in Deadpool & Wolverine may also spell doom for fans in another way.

Will Cavill go the John Krasinski route?

At a time when talks run ripe of Henry Cavill joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe as characters such as Captain Britain or Cyclops, fans may well stand wary of Marvel Studios not reducing him to just a Wolverine variant and not offering him additional roles after Deadpool & Wolverine.
