Time travel has been a crucial element of all the popular comic book franchises, including MCU. Time travelers usually tend to complicate the lives of Marvel superheroes by creating alternate realities. However, often the time travel representation raises a lot of questions owing to their confusing portrayal of the alternate realities. For instance, it is still uncertain how the Avengers put the Tesseract back in the box that was destroyed earlier.

Since Deadpool will soon be entering the MCU, it should roll with the puzzling time-travel quirks as well. However, it is important to note that Ryan Reynolds is not new to this concept.

In the past, the 46-year-old actor played roles in popular time-travel movies, including the 2022 American science fiction The Adam Project and Deadpool. The Adam Project is available on Netflix, and the Deadpool movies are there on Disney+ Hotstar. In the Shawn Levy movie, Adam’s father Louis, played by Mark Ruffalo, was the man behind the creation of time travel. He created a machine that generated utilitarian wormholes in space, stabilizing them later with his algorithm to make travel possible. However, the theory contrasted significantly with Marvel’s time travel rules.

Unlike Marvel, time traveling in The Adam Project allowed for a change in the future. Even Deadpool showed a little bit of time travel in its second movie. However, it did not make much sense to fans. In the movie, Wade goes back in time to save his love, Vanessa, with the help of Cable’s time travel device. To make sense of time travel in movies, it is important to create a tight set of rules and convey them correctly to the audience. However, the David Letich movie lacked both criteria, prompting a state of puzzlement.

The news of Hugh Jackman reprising his role in the upcoming Deadpool movie took the world by storm. However, it also gave rise to many questions since the Wolverine from Fox’s X-Men franchise died in the 2017 movie Logan. During a 2022 interview with Radio Andy on SiriusXM, the actor revealed the key that will help his character make its way into the MCU. The 54-year-old actor shared that the “device they have in the Marvel world” would bring the X-Men mutant back.

The actor further went on to say that this time travel would not disrupt Logan’s timeline and would just be happening in an alternate reality. However, there is still a small loophole to consider. Marvel fans would know that the time travel methods of X-Men and Avengers are very different, the former being much more dangerous. In the Marvel comics, fans saw mutants and sorcerers like Dr. Strange, can change the past without changing the timeline. This would jeopardize the timeline and could even cause its destruction.
