Back in 2020, the American actor surpassed Ryan Reynolds as the highest paid actor on Netflix. Previously, the Deadpool star took home a staggering $27 million for his movie 6 Underground. However, Will Smith could have easily taken over the mantle of the highest paid actor. Surprising as it sounds, the Men In Black actor’s pay cheque for Bright 2 was supposedly $35 million. However, owing to his Oscar controversy, the actor missed out on the opportunity.

Meanwhile, Wahlberg’s massive pay cheque was surely justified. The action comedy film took the world by storm shortly after its release. The streamer surely made a fortune with Wahlberg as Spenser Confidential was Netflix’s most successful original film, with almost 85 million views in just four weeks of its release. As reported by Forbes, Wahlberg’s film spent a record 18 days atop the Top 10 list.

All this success makes one wonder if the Netflix flick will see a sequel.

Will there be a sequel for Mark Wahlberg starrer Spenser Confidential?

Spenser Confidential follows the story of Wahlberg as a Boston cop who ends up in prison for assaulting one of his senior officers. Apart from Wahlberg, the action comedy movie also featured Winston Duke and Iliza Shlesinger. The film also marks the fifth collaboration between Wahlberg and director Peter Berg. Owing to the immaculate chemistry the duo share, it seems like Spenser Confidential is likely to get a sequel.

Not long ago, director Berg shed some light on whether the Netflix 0riginal will be getting a sequel. As per reports by Collider, Berg revealed that a sequel is much more than a possibility.
